Our tree removal services service

Removal is our last recommendation, not our first. Every removal request gets a free certified-arborist visit, and roughly 1 in 5 results in us telling the homeowner the tree is healthier than they thought and can stay. The other 4 are genuine hazards, dead trees, structurally compromised, or in the wrong place — and those get removed safely.

Tree removal in tight DFW yards is genuinely dangerous work. Crowded houses, fences, power lines, swimming pools, sprinkler systems, sidewalks — there's almost always something within fall radius. Our crews are insured, OSHA-trained, and equipped for crane-assisted removals where needed.

What tree removal services solves

Dead trees

Trees that have lost their structural integrity drop limbs without warning. We remove safely before something gets hurt.

Storm-damaged trees

Major limb loss or trunk damage can mean the tree can't be saved. We handle insurance documentation.

Hazard trees over structures

Trees leaning over houses, vehicles, or roads — assessed with TRAQ methodology, removed when warranted.

Diseased beyond saving

Advanced oak wilt, severe Hypoxylon canker, major decay — when treatment can't reverse the damage, removal is the responsible call.

Wrong tree, wrong place

Bradford pears that have split, trees planted too close to foundations, invasive species. Sometimes the right answer is replant with the right species.

Our process

How we approach tree removal services

1

Assessment

ISA Certified Arborist confirms removal is warranted, identifies fall zones, plans the cut sequence.

2

Permitting (where required)

Many DFW cities require permits for protected species or large trees. We handle the paperwork.

3

Property protection

We tarp pools, move outdoor furniture, lay plywood on driveways, protect irrigation heads and beds.

4

Methodical takedown

Climber or bucket arborist removes the tree in sections, rigging pieces down to spotters. Crane-assist on tight spots.

5

Stump grinding (optional)

Stump ground 4–12 inches below grade. Roots can be left or removed depending on what's planned for the spot.

6

Full cleanup

Wood chipped, debris hauled, area raked, soil cleaned. We can leave firewood-length rounds if you want them.

Mistakes to avoid

What you should NOT do

  • Don't hire uninsured 'guys with a truck'. One slip can cost you your house. Always verify general liability AND workers comp.
  • Don't try to drop a large tree yourself. Most homeowner fatalities involving trees happen during DIY removals.
  • Don't sign a removal contract without a clear written scope including stump, debris, and what's billed separately.
  • Don't pay 100% up front. A small deposit is reasonable; balance on completion is standard.
After the work

What to expect

Tree gone, property intact, area clean. Optional stump removed, optional new tree planted in its place (we'll plant a $150 replacement at no charge on most removals — ask).

If you wait

The risks of not addressing this

Dead and dying trees are not stable indefinitely. Limb drops and full failures often happen in calm weather as decay progresses. A tree that's been dead for 3 years may not survive the next thunderstorm. Insurance claims are also much messier when a tree was already obviously hazardous before failure.

FAQ

Tree Removal Services questions answered

How much does tree removal cost in DFW?

Residential removals typically run $400 to $4,000+, with most mid-size jobs around $800–$2,000. Crane-assisted, very large, or hazardous removals cost more. Stump grinding is usually a separate line item ($100–$400).

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Many DFW cities (Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Southlake, Coppell, and more) require permits for trees above certain sizes or protected species. We know each city's rules and handle the paperwork.

Will my insurance pay for tree removal?

If a tree damages a covered structure (house, fence, etc.), homeowners insurance typically pays to remove the part on the structure and the damage. Removal of a healthy tree just because you don't like it: not covered. We help document insurance claims for storm-damaged trees.

Do you grind the stump?

We offer stump grinding as a separate service. We typically grind 4–12 inches below grade and leave the chips/grindings on-site unless you want them hauled.

Will my grass grow back where the tree was?

Mostly yes — once the stump is ground and the chips are cleaned out, you can replant or sod. Some species (live oak, mulberry) sucker from roots; we can treat the root system to prevent that.

How fast can you remove an emergency hazard tree?

Same day for trees on houses, cars, or roads. Within 24 hours for most other urgent jobs. Routine non-urgent removals: scheduled within a week or two.

Will you replace the tree?

On most removals, we'll plant a $150 replacement tree of your choice at no additional charge. Ask when you book — we encourage replanting.

What about big trees that are too tall to drop normally?

We use cranes or, for the very largest, certified rigging from the top down. Either way it's a safe, controlled takedown.
