Why we exist — and why we still do this
Tree Care Pros was founded in 1999 by owner-arborist Alex with a simple frustration: most tree work in DFW was being done by crews paid to cut, not by people trained to diagnose. Mature oaks were being removed that could have been saved. Disease treatments were being sold to homeowners whose trees didn't have those diseases. Topping — which shortens a tree's life by decades — was the default.
So Alex got certified. Built a crew that valued tree biology as much as chainsaw skills. Refused to top trees, no matter the customer's request. Wrote everything down. Did follow-up visits to make sure treatments worked.
Twenty-six years later, that's still the model. Most of our work comes from customers who've been with us for decades, and from their referrals. The work speaks for itself.

Six principles we won't compromise on
1. Diagnose first, cut second
Most "tree services" cut. We diagnose. Removal is the last option, not the first. About 30% of removal-call visits end with us saving the tree.
2. Honest pricing, upfront
Written estimates, every time. No surprise add-ons. If we find something mid-job, we stop and talk to you before adding to the bill.
3. Safety always
ANSI Z133 and OSHA standards. Your property and our team go home unhurt. No shortcuts on rigging, PPE, or fall protection.
4. Clean job sites
We chip, haul, and rake. When we leave, you should barely know we were there.
5. Science over salesmanship
We treat the actual pathogen — not whatever's most profitable. If a free visit reveals you don't need treatment, we say so.
6. The long relationship
Most of our customers have been with us for decades. That's the measure that counts.
Things we won't do, no matter who asks
❌ Top trees
Topping shortens a tree's life by decades and creates dangerous water sprouts. We'll lose a job before we'll top a tree.
❌ Lion-tail
Stripping interior branches is biomechanically catastrophic. We do real selective pruning instead.
❌ Sell unneeded treatments
If your tree doesn't have a disease, we won't inject for one. Wrong treatment = wasted money + still-sick tree.
❌ Price-gouge in emergencies
Our storm rates are published. They don't change with how desperate you sound.
❌ Door-knock after storms
If we show up uninvited at your door, it's not us. Storm chasers are out-of-state crews.
❌ Cut corners on safety
If a job can't be done safely, it doesn't get done that day. No exceptions.
